Media Advisory: The Alaska Pipeline Project to Host Media Teleconference on Open Season Plan

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/27/10 -- The Alaska Pipeline Project, a joint project between TransCanada Corporation (TSX: TRP) (NYSE: TRP) (TransCanada) and ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) will hold a teleconference with members of the media on January 29, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Alaska Daylight Time (2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time) to discuss the filing of the project's open season plan with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

An open season is the process by which potential pipeline shippers assess their interests in transporting natural gas on the pipeline under the terms and conditions offered by the project.

The project is seeking approval to hold the first natural gas pipeline open season in the 30-year history of efforts to develop North Slope gas resources.
