Jack P. Williams and Darren W. Woods Elected as Senior Vice Presidents and Members of Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Management Committee

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Exxon Mobil Corporation’s (NYSE:XOM) board of directors has elected Jack P. Williams and Darren W. Woods to the positions of senior vice president and members of the management committee of the corporation.

Williams, 50, currently executive vice president of ExxonMobil Production Company, will also become a vice president of the corporation. Woods, 49, is currently president of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company and a vice president of the corporation.

Williams and Woods, together with Rex W. Tillerson, chairman and chief executive officer, and senior vice presidents Mark W. Albers, Michael J. Dolan and Andrew P. Swiger, will constitute the corporation’s management committee. The elections were made at a meeting of the board of directors on May 28 and are effective June 1.

“These assignments are part of an orderly plan to assure continuity of leadership on the management committee,” said Tillerson. “Effective and disciplined succession planning is critical to the corporation’s ongoing success and a key component of its competitive advantage.”

Williams was appointed to his current position in 2013 and was previously president of XTO Energy, vice president of ExxonMobil Development Company and vice president of ExxonMobil Production Company. He held a number of domestic and international assignments for ExxonMobil Production Company and Exxon USA, and served as an upstream advisor at Exxon Mobil Corporation. He joined Exxon USA in 1987 as a project engineer.

Williams was born in Mansfield, Ohio, and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Woods was appointed to his current position in 2012 and previously held positions as vice president of supply and transportation and director of refining for Europe, Africa and the Middle East for ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company and vice president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company. He held a number of domestic and international assignments for ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company, ExxonMobil Chemical Company and Exxon Company International. Woods served as manager of investor relations for Exxon Mobil Corporation. He joined Exxon Company International in 1992 as a planning analyst.

Woods was born in Wichita, Kansas, and has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
