Retirement of Jerry Kohlenberger and Appointment of Alan Kelly as President, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Company and Election as Vice President, Exxon Mobil Corporation

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) today announced the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. A. J. (Alan) Kelly as president, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company, and elected him as a vice president of the corporation effective December 1, 2007, succeeding Mr. G. L. (Jerry) Kohlenberger, who will retire on January 31, 2008, after more than 33 years of service.

Mr. Kelly, 50, was born in Iserlohn, Germany, and raised in the United Kingdom. He holds a bachelor's degree from Bristol University in the U.K.

Mr. Kelly began his career with the company in 1981. He held a variety of positions in the U.K., the Netherlands, Japan and the United States, working in areas including the company's fuels and lubricants marketing activities, and refinery logistics and supply operations. In 2001, he was appointed regional director, North America, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company.

Mr. Kelly became general manager, Corporate Planning, Exxon Mobil Corporation, in 2003. In 2006, he commenced a special assignment as project director of the National Petroleum Council's Global Oil and Gas Study, commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mr. Kohlenberger commenced his career with the company in 1974. He held a variety of engineering, technical and management positions at refineries in California, Illinois and New Jersey, and at Mobil Corporation's headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. In 1994, Mr. Kohlenberger was appointed general manager of the Jurong refinery in Singapore, and then in 1996 became vice president and general manager, Central Engineering, Mobil Corporation, in Fairfax. In 1997, he was appointed general manager, Global Information Systems and became president, ExxonMobil Global Services Company, in 2000.

Mr. Kohlenberger was appointed president, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company in 2002.

Mr. Kohlenberger holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degree in finance from the University of Southern California, and master's degree in civil engineering from California State University.
